Miley Cyrus – The Most (Lyrics Review and Song Meaning)

“The Most” is a love ballad on Miley Cyrus’s brand new EP ‘She Is Coming’ released on May 31, 2019. This EP marks Miley’s second in her career, but will continue as an album trilogy for ‘She Is Here’ and ‘She Is Everything.’ All three EPs will lead up to Miley’s 7th studio album, allegedly titled ‘She Is Miley Cyrus.’

Miley Cyrus has been teasing the new EP since months back and premiered two tracks “Cattitude” and “Mother’s Daughter” live on BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend held during the last week of May in the UK. The album contains 6 tracks with collaborations with Ghostface Killah, Mike Will Made-It, Swae Lee and RuPaul.

“The Most” is unlike anything on the new EP ‘She Is Coming.’ This solemn ballad takes on a rocky relationship, weak, and yet both holding on. While other songs are dance tracks, this song is for the heart.

The first verse of “The Most” talks about how cold the relationship has become due to unknown reasons. Miley is out of the house, leaving the guy to wonder where she is and what she is up to. He is not jealous or angry, but rather worried about her wellbeing. Despite her continuously mistreating him, he is still there holding on, believing in their relationship to work out.

In the chorus, Miley Cyrus questions herself why is she prone to mistreat him so much! Is it because of the awareness that no matter what she does that he will still be there waiting for her?!

The second verse tells us why Miley is drawn to this guy. He is her rock. When things get shaky and murky, he is her flashlight and he is always there for her. This relationship could be construed as the singer taking advantage of the guy as well.
