‘Name That Song’ is an interesting segment on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC network. Jimmy Fallon hosts his musical celebrities to compete against him in guessing the name of the song the show’s band, The Roots, play the instrumental track of. Taylor Swift was on Jimmy Fallon show last week and she went on to speak about her upcoming ‘Lover Fest’ tour as well as took part in the ‘Name That Song’ challenge.
The Roots band pick songs of their choice and may include hits from the oldies, modern tracks or even the songs of the celebrity playing the game on the day. The instrumental track they play is not the perfect rip-off of the original which makes the guessing game a bit tricky.
During this challenge, The Roots played instrumentals of “Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears, “Pour Some Sugar On Me” by Def Leppard, “Hot In Here” by Nelly (which Taylor Swift claimed to be her favourite song), “bad guy” by Billie Eilish, “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None The Richer (which Taylor Swift claimed as the first song she learned to play on the guitar), “No Scrubs” by TLC and none other than “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift herself.
Taylor Swift was in the lead guessing the names over Jimmy Fallon, however, the final song for “10,000” points was picked by Jimmy. More than the points, Taylor seemed to be awestruck that she could not recognize her own song. Priceless reactions all around! Watch the full game below.
