Juice WRLD – Up Up And Away | Lyrics Meaning & Song Review

“Up Up And Away” is the sixteenth track on Juice WRLD’s first posthumous album ‘Legends Never Die.’ In this song, the rapper’s life swings between the highs of fame and highs of the drugs he is on. Hence, it is just an upward journey, and at some point, he will hit the world limit. Then starts the crash!

‘Legends Never Die’ is Juice WRLD’s third studio album and was rumored to be titled ‘Outsiders.’ However, after Juice WRLD’s death in December 2019, the album title changed into its current title in retrospect of the artist’s legacy. Two singles released ahead of the album release, namely; “Righteous” and “Tell Me U Luv Me.” Two other promotional singles released days before the album release, namely; “Life’s A Mess” featuring Halsey and “Come & Go” featuring Marshmello. A note released along with the album mentions “We feel that this collection of 15 songs best represents the music Juice was in the process of creating… Juice dedicated his music to his fans and, now more than ever, we hope this album brings some reprieve to everyone during these unsettling times.”

This track interpolates the song by the same title by Kid Cudi.

In the chorus and the only verse on the song, Juice WRLD explores his realities in life. He comes to understand that his life has been a constant ‘high’ ever since he broke into fame and fortune. His success in music opened doors for his materialistic highs, getting him ever so close to all the pleasures this world could offer; luxury clothing, fanciest hotels, food, vehicles, and gorgeous models. But at the same time, all of this also takes a toll on his mind, which starts sinking into the deepest of depths. And it can be very temporarily jogged up by drugs, which Juice WRLD followed as a ritual. And this is a recipe for disasater.
