The song originally released in 2007 and was a big hit, selling over a million copies and gaining critical praise.

The premise of the song is that the girls are on the verge of a breakup. Throughout the song, Aly and AJ list down the reasons for this decision.
In the first verse of the song, Aly sing about how this boyfriend forgot to call her. She doesn’t mind this usually. But it was her birthday! She wonders what kind of ‘boyfriend’ forget his girlfriend’s birthday. Aly says she weathered the blow and tried to play it off cool. But her heart was broken inside.
This was a wake-up call for the girl to realize that he doesn’t really care about her. He was just riding the wave, and she had no time for that.
The singer realizes that this guy is nothing without her. But like in most cases, you never know the value of what you lost until you actually lose it. She believes that she is better off him anyway. So, she is seriously contemplating shutting the door behind her moving on.
