The album follows Harry’s previous release in 2019, titled ‘Fine Line.’ The new album takes melodic themes about people’s mental states during current days. Although, the album cover paints a house turned upside-down, a house is where your heart is.
“Love of My Life” is an admission of defeat and loss by Harry Styles. Most of us don’t realize the value of what we have until we lose them. The same goes for relationships of all kinds–parents, siblings, friends, and partners. The truth settles in later on and later is just too late.

Life is funny like that. Sometimes it puts you in the right place at the wrong time and vice versa. And in these situations, you meet the wrong people at the right time and the right people at the wrong times. Nothing works out in the end. They only end up leaving scars and thicker heart muscles.

Maybe this was one reason why they did not work out. Despite Harry calling them the love of his life, he only knew them very little. There was more depth to the relationship only if Harry had taken the time to dig deeper.
Harry confesses that he did not try his best to preserve their relationship. He failed to realize what their relationship meant for him until they walked away from his life. Most of us are guilty of the same mistake.
