beyonce renaissance album song review

Beyoncé – ALIEN SUPERSTAR | Lyrics Meaning Revealed

“Alien Superstar” is the third track on Beyonce’s 2022 album ‘Renaissance.’ Much like the first track on the album, “Alien Superstar” is a braggadocious track, confirming that Beyonce is still the IT girl in the game.

Beyonce released her seventh studio album ‘Renaissance’ on July 29, 2022. The album drops after a six-year hiatus between her previous project ‘Lemonade’ released in 2016. ‘Renaissance’ resembles a resurgence of Beyonce’s career as well as her spirit from the pandemic days; “with all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again. I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible.”

There are two dozen writers credited for this track; Beyoncé, Honey Dijon, MIKE DEAN, Blu June, Brittany Coney, JAY-Z, Lucky Daye, David Hamelin, Labrinth, 070 Shake, Rami, Leven Kali, Peter Rauhofer, Kam DeLa, John Michael Holiday, Richard Fairbrass, Rob Manzoli, Sal Dali, Levar Coppin, Ink, Luke Solomon and Chris Penny.

Beyonce “Alien Superstar” Lyrics Meaning and Song Review

Beyonce wants everyone to know that she is still that girl who broke boundaries in music and paved the way for females in the industry to follow. Today, she has been crowed the ‘queen’ by many and it is good to see that she wears this crown proudly.

I’m too classy for this world, forever, I’m that girl
Feed you diamonds and pearls, ooh, baby

The track bears many similarities with the opening track of the album “I’m That Girl.” In both songs, Beyonce places herself above diamonds and pearls and advocates that her happiness is entirely independent of these material things.

Beyonce hints that materials in this world cannot compare to the level of success and freedom she has achieved. Diamonds are rare on planet Earth. So, her worth cannot be measured in diamonds. They have a price tag. She does not.

It is not easy to construct a mentality as Beyonce has done for her throughout this album. But that is where we all should aspire to be.

I’m one of one, I’m number one, I’m the only one

You–the composition of you–are one in a trillion (or more). There is only one of you in this universe. So, you should put some worth over yourself as one of the rarest compositions of matter ever to occur.

So, it makes sense that Beyonce calls herself an alien superstar–she is out of this world, in talent, beauty, and confidence.

You are, too. So, learn to act like it.

Be a superstar in your own world. You are already alien enough (because there’s no one else like you).
