I hadn’t even noticed this until Taylor herself told us about it in a recent interview. Apparently, she has little insecurity about her belly button. Taylor Swift has said she is not committing herself to show her bellybutton no matter what. Even in the pictures attached here, we can’t see her belly button. I will show some more pictures to prove this.
This is what Taylor Swift had to say about showing her bellybutton.
“I don’t like showing my belly button,” she said. “When you start showing your belly button then you’re really committing to the midriff thing. I only partially commit to the midriff thing—you’re only seeing lower rib cage. I don’t want people to know if I have one or not….I want that to be a mystery. As far as anyone knows based on my public appearances, they haven’t seen evidence of a belly button. It could be pierced. They have no idea. If I’m going to get some sort of massive tattoo, it’s going to be right next to my belly button because no one’s ever going to see that.”
Even in pictures that seemed to have shown her belly quite openly, we now see that she has carefully hidden away her belly button with her dress. Even her fast-paced dance moves never helped the audience get a glimpse of her belly button. She must really hate showing it to the public.

How About When Wearing a Bikini?

So I guess now the interest has peaked for everybody. What does she really have to hide in her belly button? Is it a piercing? Is it a tattoo? Is it some other thing she is ashamed of? Is her body deformed near the belly area? Well, not really…
Taylor Swift’s Normal Belly Button

So there you go–a normal belly button on her perfectly slender body. But now we are intrigued. Now we will be keeping an eye on Taylor Swift’s oh so precious belly button to make an appearance on stage or on a candid photo of her walking down the street.
EDIT (03/01/2014):

Leave a comment on what you think about Taylor Swift’s no-midriff policy.
And for the grand finale, Taylor Swift shows her belly button herself with a fan at a backstage room.

Update:
In more recent years, it has become apparent that covering her bellybutton has not become so much of an issue to Taylor Swift. This becomes official as she shows off her open mid-rib section in cover art for her 2019 single “ME!.”
