Taylor Swift has been owning Billboard Hot 100 chart as well. First “Shake It Off” was number 1 on Billboard Hot 100 until it was dethroned by her next single “Blank Space”. “Blank Space” had the most amazing chart run we have seen in a long time.

“Blank Space” was released on November 10, 2014 and it rose in charts rapidly. “Shake It Off” was on number one spot back then and within two weeks “Blank Space” became the number one song. Then it held the position for seven weeks, counting to date!

The number one spot was assured for “Blank Space” due to the largest digital sales of the track and ‘gains in performance’ during the last week.

Taylor Swift’s Billboard reign has broken a new record that dates back to 2005. With “Blank Space” at Billboard Hot 100’s number 1 spot for the seventh consecutive week and “Shake It Off” before that and songs before that (I’m not sure which), marks the longest reign of female artists on Billboard Hot 100 chart! Yes, that is an actual thing and the last time it happened was back in 2005. Be proud, females! Taylor Swift got ya back!

When Will “Blank Space” Get Dethroned from Billboard Hot 100 Chart?

Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” is given some severe competition by the second spot on Billboard Hot 100, which has been conquered by “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars. Before that “Take Me To Church” by Hozier gave a good run to “Blank Space”, but could never dethrone the POP song. So we are keeping an eye, could “Uptown Funk” end the streak for “Blank Space”?
