Harry Styles Performs “Lights Up” and “Watermelon Sugar” Live on SNL

Harry Styles took Saturday Night Live (SNL) on November 16, 2019, as a platform to showcase his live vocals talents. And what better way to get some traction towards his new album than debuting a new single live on the show? So the British crooner took it upon himself to perform the two latest singles from 2019; “Lights Up” and “Watermelon Sugar.”

Hosted by, well, Harry Styles himself, this episode of SNL was quite special. Harry not only showed us that he is a brilliant musician, but also a good comedian with his monologue and his participation in the sketches throughout the episode.

During his opening monologue at the show, Harry proved to us that he is a ‘serious’ musician by playing the piano and talking at the same time. That is ‘big boy’ skills. He also gave a crack at his former group, One Direction, saying he is not in a boy band anymore, but in a man band now. Harry almost made the audience faint by hinting that other members of One Direction were there at the show. But they were not!

Harry Styles gave a soulful performance of his first single “Lights Up” from his upcoming second studio album ‘Fine Line’ on SNL. His perfect vocals were backed by a gospel choir who added some perfect touches to the live vocals.

Harry Styles also debuted a brand new single on the show. Titled “Watermelon Sugar,” the new single is a groovy tune. Although the seasons may be mixed up in the song lyrics, this is a track we can have a good time on the dance floor too.
