It comes as little surprise that Taylor Swift’s ‘Reputation’ tour grabbed the award for the ‘Tour of The Year’ category at the 6th annual iHeartRadio Awards 2019 held in Los Angeles.
The infamous, snake-infested, ‘Reputation‘ World Tour became one of the highest grossing stadium tours in the history of music. The tour ran for 7 months in 5 legs across 4 continents. Taylor went on for 53 shows in total for the tour accompanied by Camila Cabello and Charli XCX. Estimated earnings from the tour are charted at $345 million-an all-time high.
Taylor Swift managed to grab two awards at the 2019 iHeartRadio music awards held on March 14. Her music video for “Delicate” from ‘Reputation’ album won ‘Music Video of the Year.’
Taylor explained how mass media spread rumours about how this tour is going to be a “flop.”
“For like the entire 6 months leading up to the tour, every headline that I read about the tour was “this is going to be a massive failure, this is going to be a “flop” tour.” It really did wonders for my self-esteem.”
However, accepting the award for the ‘Tour of the Year,’ Taylor Swift thanked her fans for being the sole success of the entire tour. She thanked the fans for proving her haters wrong by standing with her in Sun and rain.
“But those predictions and forecasts may not come true if there is an unforseeable factor involved. And that unforseeable factor in this case was… my fans. I honestly owe everything in my life to you!”
