Miley Cyrus announced her upcoming single “Midnight Sky,” releasing on August 14, 2020. The song will be part of the album series ‘She Is Coming’, ‘She Is Here’ and ‘She Is Everything,’ which altogether will merge into ‘She Is Miley Cyrus’ full-length album.
Miley Cyrus made the announcement on her social media along with a snippet of the clip; “I know it feels like you’ve been waiting forever and ever …. but no more….. She is finally here.”

“Midnight Sky” Lyrics Meaning and Song Review
Miley Cyrus spoke about the idea behind the song in an interview with Zach Sang Show Interview; “This song is really just a reflection of everyone kind of having this personal kind of woke moment, I feel like a lot of us are waking up. And you know, the midnight sky, I think is kind of a road that feels like it could be nice to take with our head up in the clouds. You know, I feel like right now in society, we don’t want to live with our heads in the clouds. But I think in time that’s maybe why I’ve created worlds like this.”
On the song, Miley Cyrus sings about returning ‘home.’ This might be the ‘woke’ moment she was talking about in the interview above. Miley also understands that she was ‘born to run.’ She is a natural-born entertainer. But it has also been a long time that she has been running this circus. It would be nice to just drop everything and sit back in your home.
Miley Cyrus also insinuates that she was not meant to be loved by just one person. She has a million and one strong fanbase. Also, she has been running through a few partners in the past few years–commencing with the long term breakup with Liam Hemsworth and most recently with Cody Simpson.
The lyric “See my lips on her mouth, everybody’s talkin’ now, baby” refers to several of Miley Cyrus’ girlfriends, namely; Stella Maxwell and Kaitlynn Carter.
The singer also tells us that she is an artist of dynamic capabilities. Miley Cyrus has embarked on different genres throughout her life, from Country to Pop to Disco. She sings and showcases her versatility through “Midnight Sky.”
