Did Katy Perry did Taylor Swift with her Super Bowl XLIX performance? A very many blogs out there seems to think so, almost as if they want to spark up a fire that is under the ashes right now. In my opinion, I believe that Katy Perry did not diss Taylor Swift, at least during the Super Bowl performance.
Katy Perry VS Taylor Swift Feud
The feud between these two superstars dates back to Taylor Swift’s world tours. Apparently some celebrity friend had tried to ‘sabotage’ an entire arena tour.
“She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour,”
Taylor never straight up says it was Katy Perry who did that, but it’s an open secret.
“For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life? She did something so horrible. I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’”
Taylor Swift says the above about her music-villain. And that’s where the feud begins, and now it has escalated to a whole new level. A level where they are beginning to start insulting each other publicly.
Taylor Swift released ‘1989’ album and it contains a song about a possible feud with some other person. All subtle hints in “Bad Blood” point towards Katy Perry. Katy Perry immediately recognized the subtle diss. She Tweeted the following in response;
“Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing…”
The heat dies down after that tweet and both have gone their separate ways. But controversy stirred up when Katy Perry was selected to perform at the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show, which is indeed a pretty big deal for any artist. Hence a lot of buzz was built up around her halftime performance, that she will use it to diss Taylor Swift in some way.
AND now that those speculators didn’t get anything, they are trying to make up stories out of thin air.
“California Gurls” Performance Intended As A Katy Perry Diss To Taylor Swift?
The area of question is with Katy’s backup dancers who are wearing two-piece dotted bikinis as they dance off to “California Gurls” with Katy Perry. How is this a diss? True, that Taylor is known to wear the same kind of bikinis, but if this was a diss, it was a very poor attempt by Katy Perry.
Take a look at the “California Gurls” music video. You will see similarly dressed dancers in the video. If anything Katy Perry’s performance lacked originality, but it was no diss.
Besides all this, Katy herself said the diss will be much more bigger than a mere imitation of a dress.
“If somebody is trying to defame my character, you’re going to hear about it”
Now that sounds more like a threat. Are we going to hear a new song out of Katy Perry diss Taylor Swift? It could get pretty interesting if both artists succumb to sing off their hatred via songs. That could spike up some amazing songs. LOL.
