Just as when we were beginning to think the feud between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift was escalating, this new piece of information gives us a little positive outlook into the future. In the March issue of Elle magazine, Katy Perry straight up says “Taylor’s the sweetheart”. This gives us, those who don’t want to see an escalated war between these two, hope into a peaceful future.

Katy Perry was asked to describe the music industry (‘pop stars’) as a soap opera. And she immediately refers to the Taylor Swift-Kanye West drama that happened a few years ago.
“As pop figures, we’re all characters. And the media uses that. Who is the sweetheart, who is the villain? You know. Taylor’s the sweetheart. Kanye’s the villain. That’s the narrative.” – Elle magazine, March 2015
For one thing, we know Katy has a soft spot for Taylor Swift. But how genuine is it, is a whole other question. Because, Taylor Swift says “She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?”. So could this be another backhanded slap? We sure hope it isn’t.
Anyway, we would love nothing but to see these two superstars work out their past mistakes and look to a future of love. And maybe even collab on future music.
Let’s be optimistic and identify this ‘sweetheart’ comment by Katy Perry was done in good faith and is a call for a truce. It would be interesting to see how Taylor Swift will respond to this. Taylor Swift has until March to come up with a peaceful response! Come on Taylor, end this feud! Slay for peace!!!
