2015 Kids Choice Awards is around the corner and the organizers, The Nickelodeon has announced the nominees for this year’s award ceremony. There are many different categories varying from TV shows to Favorite games to Favorite actresses to Favorite Books. However, in this article we will be focusing only on the nominees relating to music.
28th Kids Choice Awards 2015 Nominees List
Favorite New Artist
This category is filled with brand new artists who have made a huge impact from the go. Surprisingly, 2015 Grammy’s Best New Artist winner, Sam Smith is not included in this category. But we see familiar names such as Iggy Azalea, 5 Seconds of Summer, Echosmith, Fifth Harmony, Jessie J and Meghan Trainor. The winners are picked based on number of votes, so head over to Nick.com to vote.
Favorite Music Group
Competition is severe in this category with groups such as Coldplay, Fall Out Boy, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5, OneRepublic and One Direction. Almost all of them are in the pinnacle of popularity at the moment. Coldplay released their latest album “Ghost Stories” which received so much credit from all over the world. Fall Out Boy came out with a blistering ‘American Beauty/American Psycho‘ album and Imagine Dragons released a mind-blowing ‘Smoke + Mirrors‘ album. Maroon 5’s latest single and music video for “Sugar” went viral all over the world. One Direction just started their ‘On The Road Again 2015′ tour. So it will be quite interesting to see which of these bands stole their fans’ hearts the most.
Favorite Male Singer
Blake Shelton, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Nick Jonas, Pharrell Williams and Sam Smith headline this category and it’s quite difficult to predict an outcome for this. If anything, we would place our bets on Bruno Mars (simple because of “Uptown Funk”) and Sam Smith.
Favorite Female Singer
Some of the most popular artists are included in this category. Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift. All of them have produced some extraordinary music during the past year–Taylor Swift leading above all of them purely due to her ‘1989’ album. Beyonce’s new album, Katy Perry’s Superbowl Halftime performance and Selena Gomez’s new single with Zedd will add to the competition in this category.
