Eminem is one of those artists who have achieved so much in their music careers. Eminem’s songs have appeared pretty much everywhere, from albums to mixtapes to soundtracks. His songs have been covered and being covered by many fans and artists alike. Eminem’s hit single “Lose Yourself” is probably one of the best tracks he has ever created. It was done for ‘8 Mile’ movie, on which Eminem played the lead role of B-Rabbit. The movie was loosely based on Eminem’s life.

Eminem’s songs have been covered by many artists. But a Country music star covering a rap song seems a bit unnerving and odd. But Taylor Swift explored those waters too. She covered Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” on several occasions.

Taylor Swift‘s Speak Now World Tour was a massive success. This was the same time she was exploring many other genres besides Country. Rap music may not have been the next best alternative to Taylor, but she dared to swim in the unknown waters, and emerged victorious.

The fans at the concert are heard losing their minds over the announcement that she is going to cover Eminem, and they sing the lyrics at their fullest vocal capacity. Taylor Swift plays the acoustic guitar, on the stage, and calmly raps;

His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti
He’s nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready
To drop bombs, but he keeps on forgettin’
What he wrote down, the whole crowd goes so loud
He opens his mouth, but the words won’t come out
He’s chokin’, how everybody’s jokin’ now
The clocks run out, times up over, blah!

You’d better lose yourself in the music, the moment

You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime, yo

The fans are sent into a frenzy as the song progresses towards the chorus. And she ends it with a “yo”, LOL.

This isn’t the first time she covered Eminem. Taylor Swift also covered “Lose Yourself” when she was 16 and on radio. She went live on The Danger Show on Froggy Radio and covered the Eminem’s hit single on guitar. Listen to the cover below.
