We called it. We knew that it was going to be a mob o viewers when the “Bad Blood” music video releases and it has become a fact now. There were 20 odd superstars in the “Bad Blood” music video along with Kendrick Lamar. When we looked at the cast of the video, it was clear that it was going to attract viewers from several fandoms. Swifties were definitely going to watch and re-watch the video. But on this videos there were some guaranteed Cara Delevngne fans, Karlie Kloss fans, Jessica Alba fans, Martha Hunt fans and so on. So a couple million more views from these celebrities were guaranteed.
“Bad Blood” Music Video Sets VEVO Record
But little did we know that it was going to make into the record books. Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar and the many other celebrities broke a record held by Nicki Minah (on “Anaconda”). VEVO is the official platform where most musicians release their music on YouTube. “Bad Blood” remix music video broke the record for the highest viewed music video in 24 hours of release on VEVO.
The magical number is 20.1 million plays of the music video within 24 hours of release, which is pretty damn amazing.
Watch “Bad Blood” Remix Video for the sake of it…
Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” has gained a staggering 19.6 million views on the music video within 24 hours of release. Taylor Swift just beat her by a cool 500,000 more views.
However the longevity of this viewing rate should decrease at an increasing rate. As we discussed earlier, “Bad Blood” music video isn’t exactly cup of tea for many Swifties. There’s nothing wrong with it, but there’s not much good in it either. Evidently we can see a drastic drop in views on the video by now. It has 37 million views in 3 days of release on VEVO, only a 12 million increase in 2 days.
However, Taylor Swift continues to slay charts and spread her wings across the music industry. When she will be done, she would have created a turning point in music for good. Let’s hope we all can be a part of it.
Congratulations, Miss Taylor Swift.
