“Ruin” follows those soulful rhymes and some impressive vocal skills by Shawn Mendes. He promised us more guitar action and he has delivered it. The lyrics of the song are just beautiful and easy on the ears.

The black and white music video just intensifies the dark and gloomy nature of the post-breakup scenario. We believe the visuals match perfectly with the song meaning.
