kanye west famous taylor swift feud lyrics

Kanye West Planned to Insult Taylor Swift with “Famous” Lyrics

Ever since the release of “Famous” by Kanye West, it has been a cold war between him and Taylor Swift. Kanye West calls Taylor Swift a “bitch” very explicitly and there has been no consent about it from Taylor’s camp. Before things got crazy, Kanye announced that he has mentioned about the lyrics to Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian and they are all fine with it.

This is the controversial line in “Famous” that started all this drama;

For all my Southside niggas that know me best
I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex
Why? I made that bitch famous (God damn)
I made that bitch famous

Initially Taylor Swift did not respond to the lyrics and she kept to herself. However, the music video for “Famous” was released about a month back and Kanye West showed him and Taylor Swift (look-a-like) and some other famous people fully naked in bed. Taylor Swift did not react to this either, as she was moving on from a relationship and hanging out with new boyfriend Tom Hiddleston.

I assume Taylor’s camp was still pressing charges against the offensive lyrics of “Famous” and lead to the surfacing of more juicy tit bits of the story.

Kanye West and Taylor Swift Discussed “Famous” Lyrics over the phone

Initially, Taylor’s camp said that Kanye West did not mention about the lyrics to Taylor Swift before the release of the song. So Kim Kardashian went on SnapChat to release a video of a recording of Kanye West reciting the lyrics of “Famous” to Taylor Swift on the phone.

Here’s a full transcript of the phone conversation.

Kanye West: “You still got – you still got the Nashville number?”

Taylor Swift: “I still have the Nashville area code, but I had to change it.”

Kanye West: (rapping) “For all my South side n—– that know me best, I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex.”

Taylor Swift: “I’m, like, this close to overexposure.”

Kanye West: “This one is, uh – I think this is a really cool thing to have.”

Taylor Swift: “I know, I mean it’s like a compliment, kind of.”

Kanye West: “… I give a fuck about is you as a person and as a friend.”

Taylor Swift: “That’s sweet.”

Kanye West: “I want things that make you feel good. I don’t want to do rap that makes people feel bad.”

Taylor Swift: “Um, yeah. I mean go with whatever line you think is better. It’s obviously very tongue-in-cheek either way.”

Taylor Swift: “And I really appreciate you telling me, that’s really nice.”

Kanye West: “Oh – yeah. I just had a responsibility to you as a friend. I mean, thanks for being like so cool about it.”

Taylor Swift: “Aw, thanks. Yeah, I really appreciate it. Like, the heads up is like, so nice. [inaudible] … even asking or seeing if I would be okay with it and I just really appreciate it. Like I would never expect you to like tell me about a line in one of your songs.”

Kanye West: “It’s pretty crazy.”

Taylor Swift: “And then the flowers that you sent me – I like Instagrammed a picture of them and it’s like the most Instagram likes I’ve ever gotten. It was like 2.7…”

Kanye West: “Relationships are more important than punch lines, you know?”

Taylor Swift: “Yeah, I mean – I don’t think anyone would listen to that and be like oh that’s a real diss she must be crying. It’s just, you’ve gotta tell the story the way that it happened to you and the way that you experienced it. Like, you honestly didn’t know who I was before that. It doesn’t matter that I sold seven million of that album before you did that which is what happened – you didn’t know who I was before that. It’s fine.”

Taylor Swift: “I might be in debt, but I can make these things happen, and I have the ideas to do it and I create these things and concepts. Like, I’m always going to respect you. And I’m really glad that you have the respect to call me and tell me that as a friend about the song … It’s just like a really cool thing to do, and a really good show of friendship, so thank you.”

Kanye West: “Thank you, too.”

Taylor Swift: “And you know, if people ask me about it I think it would be great for me to be like, ‘Look, he called me and told me the line before it came out. Like, jokes on you guys, We’re fine.’ You guys want to call this a feud; you want to call this throwing shade but, you know, right after the song comes out I’m going to be on a Grammy red carpet and they’re going to ask me about it and I’ll be like, ‘He called me.’ … It’s awesome that you’re so outspoken about this and be like, ‘Yeah, she does. It made her famous.’ It’s more provocative to say ‘might still have sex’ because…”

Taylor Swift: “It’s not – it doesn’t matter to me. There’s not like one [line] that hurts my feelings and one that doesn’t.”

In brief: Kanye West played Taylor Swift. Kanye West deliberately omitted the line that says “I made that bitch famous” which is the line Taylor Swift is offended about. So in that sense, it was right of Taylor Swift to say that she did not give consent to the song.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian Might Have Planned It All

We all know what went down between Kanye West and Taylor Swift at 2009 VMAs and they wiped off the bad blood at 2015 Grammy Awards but guess Kanye fished Taylor Swift there too. Taylor and Kanye became friends and they were photographed talking, laughing and even hugging at the event. Taylor attended a few events of Kanye West afterwards out of the new found friendship. She even befriended Kim Kardashian-West.

In hindsight, it all looks like a play to con Taylor Swift to push her to her breaking limits. They gained her trust and tried to destroy her at the least expected time. This is quite shameful to be seen in music industry.

Why did they record the phone conversation with Taylor Swift on “Famous”?

Why did they feel the need to record Kanye’s phone conversation with Taylor Swift on discussing lyrics of “Famous”? They had to have some hidden intentions. They knew that it was going to be controversial and they needed some kind of proof to say that Taylor Swift was made aware of the lyrics. But they deliberately omitted “I made that bitch famous” line because they knew Taylor would not consent to that. And now they are in hot waters for that.

It’s not legal to record a phone conversation

Without the consent of both parties, it is illegal to record a phone conversation, which Kanye West has done as per evidence of Kim Karashian’s SnapChat reveal. So they might be in a legal case for this foul play too.

The most recent update on this feud between Kanye West and Taylor Swift is that Kanye West is trying to justify himself about the offensive lyrics by saying that he only meant it as a compliment, which he made Taylor Swift to believe over the phone call as well.

The fans and the music industry has divided into two groups because of this feud and everybody has an opinion about who’s right and who’s at fault.
