Justin Bieber Talks Music Hiatus, Marriage with Hailey Baldwin in Vogue Interview

We have not heard much from the “Baby” singer in a while. In fact, after his 2015 album ‘Purpose’ release, we are yet to see any productions by Justin Bieber himself. But this music hiatus is in good taste, as the Canadian pop star explained to Vogue magazine in a 2019 interview.

Justin Bieber, then 23-years-old, embarked on a massive world tour after ‘Purpose’ album release. The tour had 150 stops across 40 countries running over sixteen months. “I got really depressed on tour,” reminds Justin Bieber and this lead to him cancelling the final 14 concerts of the tour. Despite the fact that the tour managed to gross a staggering $200 million in earnings, it took a hit on his mental health. “I haven’t talked about this, and I’m still processing so much stuff that I haven’t talked about. I was lonely. I needed some time,” says Bieber with over a 300 million fan base. That’s the power of depression!

Turning back to the newly wed couple, Vogue questions about their married life.

“The thing is, marriage is very hard. That is the sentence you should lead with. It’s really effing hard,” says Hailey Bieber (not Baldwin) who is 22 now. Hailey also goes on to dispute the public opinion that she was a Bilieber from the start: “I was never a superfan, of him or of anyone. It was never that crazed, screaming thing. I didn’t think about it in any kind of way except for the fact that he was cute. Everybody had a crush on him. But for the first few years we had a weird age gap.” Justin Bieber is 25 this year. They first encountered each other at a Today-show in 2009.

“I’m the emotionally unstable one. I struggle with finding peace. I just feel like I care so much and I want things to be so good and I want people to like me. Hailey’s very logical and structured, which I need.

The two goes on to explain how they are in love and despite that the married life isn’t without struggle. “You don’t wake up every day saying, ‘I’m absolutely so in love and you are perfect.'” But it’s more about working on building a healthy relationship despite the differences and struggles.

“At the end of the day, too, he’s my best friend. I never get sick of him” says Hailey Bieber and Justin responds “And you’re my baby boo.”
