Last night’s late late television entertainment show brought down a special musical guest to perform one of her few solo singles live. Former Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden to perform her debut solo single “Expectations.”
Officially released in October 2018, “Expectations” was first heard by fans during Lauren’s support act on Halsey’s ‘Hopeless Fountain Kingdom’ tour in early 2018.
According to an interview with iHeartRadio, Lauren wrote the song in under 30 minutes and got into the studio and whipped out the full production.
Last night, of course, Lauren Jauregui blew a breath of new life into this song from her upcoming debut solo studio album. The haunting performance, under a dimmed light during the show, had a dark presence. Lauren poured out her emotions of love and despair that arise from expectations in a relationship.
Complete with a backdrop of a massive vine of white roses, Lauren gave out an enchanting choreograph while one of the guitarists gave out a solo segment.
Did Lauren sat down with James Corden for a chat? we do not know yet.
You can catch Jauregui live in June 2018 as she is lined up to perform at the PrideFest 2019 in New York City.
Stay tuned for more updates.
