“Heaven” appears in the late Swedish DJ maestro, Avicii’s first posthumous album ‘Tim.’ The album is named after the DJ’s real name Tim Bergling and was released on June 6, 2019, a year after his passing.
‘Tim’ album contains 12 tracks and features artists such as Aloe Blacc, Imagine Dragons, Noonie Bao, and Vargas & Lagola. The album’s first single “SOS” was released on April 10, 2019, and the lyrics spoke about the struggles in life.
The second track on the album, “Heaven” features vocals by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin–an aptly suitable voice for this heavenly track from above. It is revealed that the recording of this song dates back to 2014, however, did not end up in Avicii’s second studio album ‘Stories.’
“Heaven” literally speaks about dying and going to heaven. Fans have gathered around this song as an ultimate tribute to the DJ maestro. On the flip side, the song lyrics could be interpreted as being rescued from life with the love of a special person. Beaten and broken down, the artist must be feeling like heaven when bathed in love. He ‘dies’ a little every time he sees this new person in his life who makes it all worth it.
