Billie Eilish – No Time To Die | Lyrics Review and Song Meaning

‘No Time To Die’ is the upcoming 25th James Bond movie featuring the iconic actor Daniel Craig as the iconic character of the infamous 007. This is marked as the final Bond movie with Daniel Craig in the star role and it will be Billie Eilish’s debut into the franchise as well. At 18-years-old, Billie will be the youngest ever singer to perform on the soundtrack of Bond movies so far.

“I am a huge fan of Billie and Finneas,” says ‘No Time To Die’ movie director Cary Joji. She adds “their creative integrity and talent are second to none and I cannot wait for audiences to hear what they’ve brought – a fresh new perspective whose vocals will echo for generations to come.”

Billie Eilish will perform the title song of the movie written and produced by her brother Finneas and herself. Billie Eilish shared her thrill about this honor with Variety; “It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honor. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock.” Legendary composer Hans Zimmer will lead the production of the 2020 movie soundtrack.

Lyrics Review and Song Meaning of “No Time To Die”

Verse 1

The melancholic lyrics sing of Billie Eilish bleeding from her heart. We find the singer on the aftermath of a breakup and she realizes that it is only herself that hurts; “the blood you bleed / Is just the blood you own.” The more you love, the more you hurt.

Billie Eilish questions herself if she was foolish and naive to fall in love! He was her life, but life is far from fair. There are rarely any ‘perfect’ love stories in the world.

Chorus

The chorus ties in with the first verse when she questions that was it obvious for everyone else that she was caught up in a lie! She has given plenty of chances for this man to get his act cleaned up. But each time was a disappointment and a deeper cut on her. Only she bled.

The paradise she imagined in a perfect relationship was always being pushed to the limit until it was there no more.

Verse 2

Billie Eilish let her burn herself giving one more chance to him each time. But now it has come to a point where she no longer cares about him. She gave it her best shot and it did not pan out. What is left are the lessons to be learned.

‘No Time To Die’ movie is set to hit theatres on April 8, 2020.
