Such an amazing song, and rightly deserving of an Oscar, “Glory” from the ‘Selma‘ motion picture soundtrack won ‘Best Original Song’ at 87th Academy Awards that concluded a few hours ago. Two of the best male talents, Common and John Legend, collaborate on this song to make it so much more awesome.
“Everything Is Awesome” from The Lego Movie, “Grateful” from Beyond The Lights, “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” from Glen Campbell… I’ll Be Me and “Lost Stars” from Begin Again were the competitors in this category and “Glory” emerged victorious.

“Glory” also won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song, so it was naturally the most likely to win at 87th Oscar Awards as well, and it did.
“Glory” is not merely a strong and perfect musical composition. The message it delivers is quite valid, important and timely for the modern society.
“This is one of the hardest-hitting songs. This combines history with current events. This is an homage in hip-hop to the civil rights struggle, and it ties it to very modern events. From Selma to Ferguson, this song will hit you in home. This is an anthem to struggle, and it is indeed glorious.” – J. Kelly reviews on Amazon.
