Well, this is something unexpected and expected at the same time. Kanye West was supposed to perform during Glastonbury this Saturday, but an online petition against it got over 150,000 online signatures. The petition requested Kanye West to be taken out of the line up and instead a Rock band to be inserted to his slot.
The Glastonbury didn’t bow to the request, but Kanye kind of did. He kicked off his performance with a rendition of Queen’s undying classic “Bohemian Rhapsody.” The intro was played by the DJ and Kanye too over from the opening stanza. He also got the crowd involved in the singing too. Honestly, it was not that bad of a performance, considering the caliber of Kanye West and Queen.
Anyway, the live performance can be watched below.
Despite the petition, Kanye West continued to perform a 30-song setlist during his stage appearance and the crowd was mesmerized all the way through.
Another interesting thing during the concert was that Kanye got Kanye’d. Remember the whole Kanye West-Taylor Swift incident back in 2009? Repeating on the same style, British Comedian Lee Nelson crashed Kanye’s performance of “Black Skinhead” and Kanye had to restart the song. Nelson later tweeted “I Kanye’d Kanye. That was for you @taylorswift13.”
What an eventful night…
