Fifth Harmony did a very impressive job performing two of their hit singles at MTV VMAs 2017 last night. They performed a medley of “Angel” and “Down” joined by Gucci Mane at the end. The four girls did not forget to throw a bit of shade at the former member Camila Cabello, who quit the group in December last year. Looks like there is still a little bad blood between them.
At the start of their performance, there were clearly five members to be seen standing on the stage. Just when the song starts “who said I was an angel…” the fifth silhouette is thrown backwards and completely disappears off the stage. That is one poetic and perfectly timed shading, as they definitely did not look like angels at the moment. Then the girls go on to perform “Angel” and switch to “Down.” They also pull a classic raining-on-the-stage scenes which was applauded by the crowd.

“Down” was more of a remix with a lot of electronic music infused and the girls got down to the song. The celebrities present and the fans seemed to enjoy this performance alike. We think it would be justifiable to say that this medley by Fifth Harmony would have been a better closure to the MTV VMAs 2017 night than the “Swish Swish” act by Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj.
