In each game, the player is allowed to select a champion who will begin at a lower skill level. As you progress through the battles gaining experience, your champion can skill-up and unlock special abilities. As of now, the game contains over 140 champions to select from. Each game can last from a few minutes to even hours.

What is League of Legends???

Every year, the game producer-Riot Games-host a League of Legends World Championship series. Players gather from all over the world to specific locations, changing each year, to compete for a prize money of over $5 million (2017). Not to mention the bragging rights that come with the title win. Each year, since 2011, the world series has happened 6 times.

The Worlds 2018 series commences on October 1st and lasts through November 3, 2018. 24 teams have come together for the final showdown of the group stages. The total prize money for this year is unknown yet.

One of the biggest spectacles, besides the gaming event itself, is the annual video trailer for the event. This year, The Glitch Mob, Mako and The Word Alive artists got together to create one of the most epic, high-fantasy and action-packed music videos ever. Titled “Rise,” the video shows the story of a hero, who fights his way to the top, facing many challenges, opponents and obstacles.
