Bashar Barakah Jackson professionally known as Pop Smoke has been killed today (February 19) in the early hours.
TMZ reported the news first and the killing seems to have been a result of a home invasion attempt. Police responded to an emergency call from the Hollywood Hills where the rapper resided and he was taken to the hospital having found him dead in his home. The rapper passed away at the hospital. Pop Smoke was just 20-years-old at the time of death.
Pop Smoke was an upcoming artist in the music game having had his second mixtape ‘Meet the Woo 2’ released on February 7, 2020. The album charted at #7 in the US. Watch his breakout his “Welcome to the Party” video below.
Artists such as 50 Cent, Chance the Rapper, Kehlani, Lil Yatchy, Joell Oritz and more paid tribute to the late rapper on social media.
