Listen to “Daisies” by Katy Perry
The song is a motivational anthem about following your dreams and staying true to yourself in doing so. Katy Perry says that your haters will say everything they can to put you down until you make it. When you do reach the zenith they will ask you how you did it!
Katy also adds the phrase “stick and stones” which originates from the children’s rhyme from the 1800s. The phrase stands as motivation against verbal harassment; “sticks and stones may break my bones / but words will never hurt me.” Katy says that she will even use the sticks and stones to her advantage.
At the end of the day, what matters is only yourself. So be yourself and do your best. Ultimately when you reach your goals and dreams, everyone will be throwing daisies at your feet.
