Joyner Lucas – Will (Remix) Ft. Will Smith | Lyrics Meaning & Song Review

Joyner Lucas expressed his love and gratitude towards the iconic actor Will Smith in his track titled “Will” from ‘ADHD’ album. The word traveled to Will Smith himself and being a rapper himself, Will Smith joined Joyner on a remix of the track.

Announcing the remix, Will Smith added “Y’all know I had to do it :-)”

On the new remix, Joyner and Will Smith rap about, well, Will Smith, again. On the only verse on the track, Will Smith talks about himself and his idols. Guess the song came in a full circle on the remix.

Listen to “Will (Remix)” by Joyner Lucas Ft. Will Smith

Will Smith kicks off his verse by giving props to his family–his wife and his kids who have made him more proud than anything else in the world. And that was just the icing on the top of his cake of dreams.

Next, Will Smith goes on to speak about the people who inspired him to become great. Nelson Mandela, first black president in South African and a Nobel Prize winner, is at the top of Will’s list. Other acts that made the list are Julius Erving (NBA hall of famer), Muhammad Ali (still considered to be the greatest boxer of all time), James Avery (actor who co-starred with Will on ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ sitcom), and Martin Lawrence (Will’s long-time partner on the very successfull movie franchise ‘Bad Boys’).

However, Will Smith also goes on to say that he is not ‘perfect’ even though Joyner Lucas perceives him to be. He admits that he has made mistakes, but also tells us that he rectified them and became better.

Will Smith also gives a career highlight into his music. Since his debut album ‘Big Willie’ released in 1997, Will Smith has sold over 60 million records worldwide. And this was before streaming services were popular and songs and albums were sold in CDs, which makes this number ever so more impressive. He also shoutsout to his hit “Gettin’ Jiggy wit it” track.

A man of many talents and skills, Will Smith is a true legend to be adorned as an idol. Let us know what you think about this song in the comments below. Check out the full lyrics on Genius.
