Silk Sonic – Leave the Door Open | Lyrics Meaning & Song Review

Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak are on to something new. They have combined forces to form a brand new vocal powerhouse named ‘Silk Sonic.’ And their first ever single “Leave the Door Open” is out now.

“Leave the Door Open” is the first release and the lead single off of Silk Sonic’s upcoming debut studio album ‘An Evening with Silk Sonic.’ Answering a fan’s question, Bruno Mars commented “@AndersonPaak and I pouring our heart and soul into these songs.”

Ont the debut single, Silk Sonic profess their love to a certain woman who has swept them away off their feet. They suggest that their doors will forever be open for this woman.

Throughout the first verse, Anderson .Paak tries to woo this woman into his house by highlighting what a good samaritan he is; looking good, clean-shaven, house clean, pool warm, and sipping wine. Sounds very tempting!

In the second verse, Anderson .Paak gives a nod to Jimi Hendrix’s hit single “Purple Haze” from 1967. It is also a reference to a strain of marijuana, which has a distinctive purple color in the leaves.

Bruno Mars, surprisingly, handles only the pre-chorus and the chorus of the song. But, he manifests his usual angelic voice for this romantic invitation. And he adds on to his fellow singer’s claims and confesses that all these words come from the bottom of their hearts.
