It has been 18 years since Brooklyn rapper The Notorious BIG was taken away from the world and his influence in the rap industry still lives to this date. March 09 marks the anniversary of his death. Kendrick Lamar has very openly admitted to the influence Biggie had on him as a rapper. And who better than K. Dot to pay a little tribute to The Notorious Big.
Kendrick Lamar was on Real 92.3FM radio last night and did an amazing freestyle over Biggie’s classic track “The What”. He basically nailed it. Listen below.
Kendrick Lamar Freestyles Over Biggie’s “The What”
“Everything is everything, it’s scandalous / So don’t motion for the ambulance, the project filled with cameras / The LAPD gambling, scrambling / Football numbers, slandering homies names on paper / You snitched all summer / The streets, don’t fail me now / They wanna put the gang down / From Compton to Congress, they set trippin’ all around,”
Rest In Peace Christopher George Latore Wallace AKA The Notorious B.I.G., Biggie and Biggie Smalls. The void you left will forever be remembered in mourning.
Kendrick Lamar still did not speak about his upcoming album ‘[Untitled]‘ set to release on March 23, 2015.
What do you think about the freestyle by King Kendrick? And what are your top songs by Biggie?
