Amy Winehouse parted ways with this world in 2011 (July 23) at the age of 27. The cause of death was pronounced as ‘alcoholism’. But is it really the cause of her death? What caused her to become an alcoholic at such a young age! The press-the fame-the constant flashing lights on her face. She is gone, but we have not forgotten about her. Amy Jade Winehouse was one of the best Jazz musicians of our generations. Her vocal talents are non-paralleled even to-date. However, after so many years, an Amy Winehouse documentary is on the way, and we have the first trailer out. Prepare for some tears.
Watch the Trailer for ‘Amy’
“I won’t write anything unless it was directly personal to me, just ’cause I won’t be able to tell the story right…”
The trailer shows a perfectly gathered series of video clips from Amy herself, narrating about her, her music and what it would be like to be a star.
“I’m not a girl trying to be a star, or trying to be anything other than a musician.”
The most important part of the trailer and possibly the plot for the movie ‘Amy’ is when the ‘interviewer’ asks Amy “how big do you think you’re going to be?” Amy’s response kind of answers all the questions behind her ‘downfall’ at such a young age.
“I don’t. I don’t think I’m gonna be at all famous. I don’t think I could handle it. I would probably go mad, do you know what I mean? I would go mad.”
So there it is.
Amy Winehouse’s first album, ‘Frank’ came out in 2003. It was a massive success, and she has been in the spotlight ever since. And looks like she didn’t transcend with the fame very well. It wasn’t what she wanted and she resisted it. Alcoholism was a result of all this inner turmoil she experienced for an extended period of time.
The music world lost a true talent and a legendary artist. Rest In Peace Amy Winehouse.
The movie is scheduled to come out in Summer 2015. The following is the official poster for the ‘Amy’ movie.
