In honor of the International Women’s Day on March 8th, Twitter started off a movement with a special hashtag #SheInspiresMe. This hashtag encourages people to share a person, a female, who has inspired them in any way. Millions of people have joined already on this trend and Twitter invited Mother Monster AKA Lady Gaga to kick start this campaign of positivity.
The amount of Tweets tributing their mothers has given us fresh hope for humanity. Lady Gaga was no exception. The Oscar winner tributed this International Women’s Day to her mother-Cynthia
“.@momgerm! I celebrate and
Lady Gaga/Twitterhonor her for #InternationalWomensDay (and every day) for helping me lead @BTWFoundation to create a movement to increase awareness around mental wellness and decrease stigma through programs like #teenMHFA 💝 Who do YOU celebrate? #SheInspiresMe”
Cynthia Germanotta is an activist and an avid supporter of her daughter. She is the co-founder of ‘Born This Way‘ foundation “committed to empowering youth to create a kinder, braver world.”
Cynthia Germanotta had a reply to Lady Gaga while tagging in another inspirational character from the female activists of the world-Melinda Gates.
Miley Cyrus dedicated this International Women’s Day to one of her favourite women- Ariana Grande in an adorable Tweet.
Screening through the Tweets, we see many people dedicating their inspirations to their mothers, sisters, teachers and singers from all over the world. Among the singers, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Madonna, Camila Cabello and Oprah have been mentioned quite frequently. Melinda Gates of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation ‘Dedicated to helping all people lead healthy, productive lives’ also was nominated a few times.
