Logic premiered “Pretty Young Girl” during his first ever show in Boston on his ‘Bobby Tarantino vs Everybody’ tour in 2018. During the same show, Logic introduced this song as inspired by “someone very special” to him;
“I wrote this song for someone very special, dear and near to my heart–that I love–my best friend in the world, who’s been there since day one–since back in the fuckin’ basement.”

Since Logic confessed that this song is about a special friend and since we know it’s a ‘she,’ we will assume a similar perspective in analysing these lyrics.
Going through the lyrics of “Pretty Young Girl” it is quite obvious that she was not a mere “friend” as Logic stated during his intro to this song during his Boston concert. Her love for this girl is quite visible in each and every line of this song. Logic sings how she makes him want to do all the things he never imagined himself doing. She makes him be the best person there is. She is gorgeous, and his heart can’t handle all these new experiences.
But she is committment-phobic and a liar!
Logic sings that behind her beautiful eyes are all “lies, lies” and he cannot continue to be hurting. In the first verse of the song, we hear Logic confessing that he is really hurt by her deceits. Then why does Logic write a song about her? In Logic’s statement above, we learn that she was there for him when no one else was. She knew him from his basement days. She was his world when the world has its back turned to him. This has earned her a special place in his heart.
In the second verse of “Pretty Young Girl,” Logic explains why they did not work out. She had no time to devote to him. Logic, being the artist of his popularity, could find time for her, yet she could not. Logic also confesses that he has no time for girls who waste his time and thots (that hottie over there). He just wants a good girl who knows how to turn into a freak.
