The highly anticipated brand new track by BLACKPINK is finally here and it’s what we all wanted!!
“Kill This Love” was announced a few weeks back by Blackpink and serves as the title track of the all-girl group’s upcoming mini album. This album follows their last mini album ‘SQUARE UP’ released in 2018.
The music video released along with the single release features the BLACKPINK girls being badass, matching the theme of the song. The teaser poster released for the song resembled one of the most heroine characters in female pop culture: Tomb Raider.
The music video was also the fastest to reach 2 million likes on YouTube, reaching the goal in less than 2 hours of release. As of now, less than 12 hours of release, the video has over 22 million views, and could be the fastest to reach 100 million views.
The 4-verse song talks about coming out of a toxic relationship that has poisoned the girls’ hearts. Now they have no care for ‘love.’ Throughout the song, the girls sing about the pitfalls of love. How too much attachments can lead to severe disappointments and how it could kill you. So the girls–Jisoo, Rosé, Lisa and Jennie–suggest that you kill the love before it kills you.
The highly energetic and charismatic single goes back and forth in both Korean and English. This album will be BLACKPINK’s first aiming the international community.
