Ed Sheeran is pure talent. He can pull off pretty much any genre of music. He has proven this with his POP songs, ballads, HipHop songs, a little bit of rap in between music. His acoustic versions are out of the world. Now Ed Sheeran has proven he is good with R&B and Reggae as well. He performed ’80s hit single “Master Blaster” on BBC Two live with Jools Holland & His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra band on Jools’ Annual Hootenanny . Eddie pretty much nailed it. “Master Blaster” is originally performed by the great Stevie Wonder.
“Master Blaster (Jammin’)” is a single written, produced and performed by the great Stevie Wonder and is from his album “Hotter Than July”. The single was released on September 12, 1980 and was a major hit back then. It spent seven weeks on number 1 spot on Billboard’s R&B Singles chart and number 2 on UK Singles Chart. The track is to be in tribute to the late great Bob Marley, and hence is the heavy Reggae accent in the song.
I believe Ed Sheeran did justice to this historic song. His voice can bend across-genres, which is not something we see from very many artists. Congratulations Ed for another amazing live performance.
