Ed Sheeran x Justin Bieber – I Don’t Care (Lyrics Review and Song Meaning)

We first got hints on an unlikely return to music when Justin Bieber posted a countdown to May 10th on his social media platforms. Even more so, we sniffed at an unlikely collaboration forming when Justin Bieber tagged Ed Sheeran on these posts. Eventually, on May 6th, both artists announced the upcoming duet and parts of its lyrics.

Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber have worked once before in their careers on Bieber’s single “Love Yourself” from ‘Purpose’ album released in 2015. Benny Blanco produced this track and he, too, returns to produce this brand new collaboration titled “I Don’t Care.” It is unclear as to which artist will be the lead on this collaboration. Both artists have albums due; Ed Sheeran has released his last album ‘Divide’ in March 2017.

The teased lyrics of the song so far suggests that the song is going to be one of affection. The lyrics narrate how each singer does not worry about the negatives of life because their ‘baby’ is with them.

Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber, both, revealed the single title to be “I Don’t Care” and announced pre-orders on May 8th.

The song goes on to describe a scenario where both artists are at a party. But this is not the kind of party either one of them can enjoy. They feel like ‘nobody’s at the party and they wonder what others are talking so much. They just don’t move with the crowd. In the bridge of the song, Ed and Justin sings that they “hate everybody here” except for their babies.

This collaboration seems like a perfect tribute to girlfriends. Might be that you are stuck in the worst possible place ever, but the right person next to you could mean the difference between hell and heaven. “All the bad things disappear” when their girlfriends are with them. The difference between Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber feeling like a ‘somebody’ from feeling like a ‘nobody’ lies with the person next to you.

This upbeat track is sure to turn some booties on the dance floor. Let us hear what you think about this new collaboration “I Don’t Care” by Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber.
