Listen to “Light of Love” by Florence + The Machine
“Light of Love” sings about pushing yourself towards the ‘light’ inside of all of us every day, no matter how the odds turn up to be. There is darkness inside of us as well. But you have a choice to make at each moment of your life. Always pick the path towards the light. The song provides encouragement for everyone to do this, especially in these grim and uncertain times during Coronavirus lockdown.
Florence Welch sings about substance abuse in this song. She talks about having done drugs at a party and the aftermath following; “So close and yet so far from death.”
The singer also narrates a story surrounding her sister. She confesses to her sister that “I think I did too much.” That must have been a horrible experience for both of them. However, Florence was too messed up in her head to even realize the gravity of that situation. However, looking back, now that she is clean, the singer admits that it was too much and he heart breaks for herself and for all the people she affected.
Let us hear what you think about this brand new song and if you are able to donate for this cause too.
