Drake Drops Two New Singles “I’m Upset” and “Duppy Freestyle” (Lyrics Review)

Drake has been active in the past few months in dropping new content from his much anticipated fifth studio album ‘Scorpion.’ Some major global hits such as “Nice for What,” “God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity” have already been released from this album. However, there is no fixed release date for the album yet. Today, Drake released yet another single “I’m Upset” coinciding with the release of Pusha-T’s new album ‘Daytona’ release.

“Duppy Freestyle” was released on the same day as the ‘Daytona’ album release and it is not a hidden fact that the freestyle was targeted at Pusha-T.

Drake does not hold anything back in “Duppy Freestyle,” as he calls Pusha-T never having a “top 5” record. He also challenges Pusha-T to “holla at me (Drake) when you (Pusha-T) is multi-million.” He also speaks about helping Pusha-T back in the days and he is not showing any gratitude for all of that.

Listen to “Duppy Freestyle” by Drake

“Duppy Freestyle” is a response triggered from the last line of “Infrared” track on Pusha-T’s new album ‘Daytona.’ The lyric read;

“It was written like Nas but it came from Quentin”

Quentin Miller is a songwriter used by Drake. However, Drake responds to this by saying even Kanye West uses ghostwriters and Kanye was the one who has produced the entire ‘Daytona’ album.

Drake ends the freestyle with another slap;

“Tell ‘Ye, “We got a invoice comin’ to you”
Considerin’ that we just sold another 20 for you”

“Ye” is obviously Kanye and Drake implies that the popularity of his freestyle will boost the sales of ‘Daytona’ album by another 20,000 units, which is not a lot, which is another slap itself.

Pusha-T responded to this on his Twitter:

Drake did not held back to this request either:

The description of this invoice reads “professional assistance and career-reviving” and charges $100,000. *grabs the popcorn*

The feud between Drake and Pusha-T has been blazing since 2011 when Pusha-T released a track “Don’t Fuck with Me” which targeted Drake. And the feud seems to not to be ceasing anytime soon.

Drake Releases New Single “I’m Upset”

After responding to the feud demands, Drake is back at promoting his new album ‘Scorpion.’ The new single “I’m Upset” has nothing to do with the feud and he addresses some of his life concerns right now.

He is upset about the cheap deals that people try to score with him and the fake women who are out there to score his money. The choruses keep changing on this track as he spikes up the cheap deals he has been offered. It starts with 50,000 and goes up to 100,000 and even half a million to which also he says “can’t accept.”

He is also thankful for the women he knows and trusts. He has a strong connection with Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and so on from the industry and he says he can easily go ‘fifty-fifty’ on something with them, which he cannot do with a ‘gold digger.’
