Taylor Swift Dances in the Rain and Shares Pride Month Message at Rep Tour, Chicago

It is not an easy task to sell out the same venue on the same world tour in two consecutive days unless, of course, you are Taylor Swift. The two back-to-back concerts of the Reputation Tour at the Soldiers Field, Chicago were sold out, with a record attendance of over 104,000 Swifties. And Taylor did not disappoint the attendees.

On the first day at Chicago, Taylor Swift brought back “Our Song” to the ‘Reputation Tour’ setlist. On the second day, she added “22” to the setlist and the list of songs keep getting longer by the day.

She had her guitar, glittering coat and boots on to bring this track from ‘Red’ era, and this surprise was met with over 50,000 Swifties screaming along with the song.

Another highlight from the second day of Chicago concert was Taylor’s brave speech on ‘Pride Month.’

“It’s very brave to be vulnerable about your feelings in any situation, but it’s even more brave to be honest about your feelings and who you love when you know that it might be met with adversity from society. This month and every month I want to send my love and respect to everybody who has been brave enough to be honest about how they feel, to live their lives as they are, as they feel they should be, as they identify. This is a month where I think we need to celebrate how far we’ve come, but I think we also need to acknowledge how far we have left to go. I want to send my love and respect to everybody who hasn’t felt comfortable enough to come out yet … and may you do that on your own time and may we end up in a world where everyone can live and love equally and no one has to be afraid to all say how they feel. When it comes to feelings and when it comes to love and searching for someone to spend your whole life with … it’s all just really, really delicate …. you know?”

She perfectly set the tune to her next performance-“Delicate.” Every sentence of her Pride Month message was met by loud cheers from the crowd.

It will be quite difficult to trump this message with any other act on the show, but this next item from the night drives a high competition.

Taylor Swift brought back the rain on stage at day 2 of Chicago concerts on the Reputation Tour. While kicking through the last stage of the night, it began to rain and Taylor Swift did not hold back. In fact, the rain made the entire scene more electric as she owned the obstacle. The rain started with her performance of “Long Live” and Taylor smiled and said “Oh my god, you guys, it’s raining” and continued playing the song.

The rain held on through Taylor’s performances of “Long Live,” “New Year’s Day,” “Getaway Car” and the finale of a mashup of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and” “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things.”

More magical looking shots were captured by photographers and one which caught Taylor’s eye was shared by her on social media.

The Chicago concert nor the performances were dampened by the rain. In contrast, it made the show more vibrant and exciting. Hopefully, Taylor does not catch a cold, as her next shows are scheduled in Manchester on June 8th and 9th.
