Katy Perry released her first-ever Christmas song in 2015, titled “Every Day Is a Holiday” inspired by the holiday theme. Her 2018 “Cozy Little Christmas” is a follow-up to this track and a much-anticipated part of her holiday-themed album to be revealed yet. This track is currently available on ‘Katy Perry Essentials’ album.
On December 2, 2019, Katy Perry premiered a brand new music video for “Cozy Little Christmas” complete with a Santa. But in this holiday video, even Santa is taking a day off with Katy Perry. They are joined by Santa’s little helpers–a snowman, Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer, and even a smurf. Watch the music video below.
In the lyrics of the song, Katy Perry sings of taking a day off from all the stress of the normal day’s routine and enjoying time to yourself. Santa Claus can join in too. She sings of finishing Christmas shopping, putting kids to sleep, catching up with folks whom you meet only once a year, and then finally settling by the swimming pool.
Since its the holidays, why not get a massage? By Rudolf’s hooves themselves. We see Santa and Katy Perry side-by-side on massage beds getting massages from reindeer hooves. Not sure how comfortable that is, but the idea is quite cozy.
In the last episode of the video, we see Katy Perry and Santa’s friends drowning in one too many eggnogs mixed with Whiskey. Everyone looks tipsy and Katy Perry and Santa end the day with a slow dance in the living room, decorated in Christmas lights.
The song, lyrics and the music video definitely wreak of ‘coziness’ of being around the loved ones during this special season.
