Verse 1
Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo brag about their style and personalities–so bright that it makes onlookers go blind, and their hips that don’t lie.
The lyric “my hips, they don’t lie” is a reference to Shakira’s hit track “Hips Don’t Lie.”
Refrain
The refrain of the song is performed by Jennie. In these lyrics, she lays down all the things others might want to do with the BLACKPINK girls–touch them, steal their hearts, party it up at the club, take it back to the room, get wrapped underneath the bedsheets, and so on.
Chorus
In the chorus, Jennie and Jisoo tell us that they are aware of the intoxicating effect they have on us. All the fans go higher and higher, lit on fire and fire.
Verse 2
Cardi B jumps in on the second verse of “Bet You Wanna.” In her lyrics, she suggests that she is a good catch but she is not easy to catch. There is a bit of a chase involved. While she asks to be turned on and be pleased, “Please Me” is also a reference to her 2019 track of the same title with Bruno Mars. However, there is no chance of playing games with her in the relationship.
This verse drops in the midst of the divorce between Cardi B and rapper Offset. Cardi B might be sending a strong message to any future spouses through this verse.
Bridge
In these lyrics, Jennie and Lisa brag about their ‘price tag’ to get them to do all the things mentioned in the refrain. Just bet higher…higher…and higher. There might not be a high enough bet to land these ladies down, because they are so up in the sky.
