Machine Gun Kelly – Daywalker Ft. Corpse | Lyrics Meaning & Song Review

Machine Gun Kelly took to social media today to announce an upcoming collaboration with singer and social media personality CORPSE. The song is titled “DAYLWALKER” and the artwork for the song suggests the song is going to be pretty ‘bloody.’

This song marks Machine Gun Kelly’s return to music since his 2020 album ‘Ticket to My Downfall.’ The song was released on March 12, 2021.

This is CORPSE or Corpse Husband’s first major collaboration since his blowout singles such as “E-Girls Are Ruining My Life” and “🌧️agoraphobic🌧️.” His signature deep voice is perfect for a song of this theme.

According to lore, a ‘daywalker’ is a breed of vampires or half-vampires with the ability to roam under sunlight without harm. Usually, vampires burn under sunlight and are known only to be nightcrawlers.

In the song, both MGK and Corpse sing about surreal experiences of confrontations with their enemies. Machine Gun Kelly had a fight with an actor after this actor called out MGK for his feud with Eminem. TMZ reports that MGK’s bodyguard bloodied the actor in response. Corpse, on the other hand, has had a gun pointed at his face in the middle of the night when he was taking a stroll down a street.

In the third verse, Corpse sings “Me and all these pills be on a fuckin’ first name basis” which would usually suggest a drug addiction. However, Corpse is suffering from several severe health conditions in real life. And he would be taking a whole lot of medications to keep his conditions under control.
