Harry Styles has marked a glorious comeback with a brand new single titled “Aperture” and with it bringing hopes for a new album in 2026. The song encapsulates the theme of the album with a happy love song and a disco beat.
“Apeture” is the first single from Harry Styles’ upcoming fourth studio album ‘Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.’ The album will likely lean into topics of romance with an attempt at the revival of the disco music scene. This album follows Harry’s Grammy-winning album ‘Harry’s House‘ from 2022.
In an interview with BBC Radio, Harry Styles said that “Aperture” was one of the last songs recorded for the album. And it captures emotions of happiness, freedom, and relief that come from completing a project. “I think the song was the last song that was made for the album. So it kind of ended up being this really perfect like mission statement of what a lot of the album was about. Um, I think the opening and kind of allowing for more things and, in turn, allowing for more like positive things to come into your life was a lot about what this song and this album as a whole was about for me.”
“Aperture” is written by Kid Harpoon and Harry Styles and produced by Kid Harpoon.

Harry Styles “Aperture” Lyrics Review and Song Meaning
The first two verses of the song have Harry Styles talking about taking life head-on. ‘Taking no prisoners’ means that you are unforgiving and relentless. This ideology can be applied in many different aspects of life, including love.
I’ve no more tricks up my sleeve
In this game of life and love, Harry admits that he has run out of tricks. He can no longer ‘fake till you make it.’ It’s time to face it head-on and also face the consequences. Looking back on his life, he sees that he lived a life worth living at the time. But somethings have to change – somethings have to go, for new life to emerge.
Time codes and Tokyo scenes
Harry Styles reviews his own life from a time when he used to be all over the world. He would be on a different time code on the daily, and he remembers Tokyo nights vividly. It was a complicated time – he had only one goal – to be successful. He calls himself a ‘bad boy’ for reasons we would likely never know. But one can imagine. He realizes that this life is unsustainable.
It’s best you know what you don’t
Aperture lets the light in
It’s a tricky thing to balance one’s life – especially for someone as high profile as Harry Styles. How can we know what we don’t know yet? We cannot. This is reality. But what matters is how you allow yourself a chance at change once you do realize what you didn’t know before. This is called growth.
An aperture is a hole through which light enters a camera. Thematically, in this song, aperture represents new experiences or knowledge. If you close the aperture, no light comes in to a camera, and it cannot produce an image. Likewise, if you do not let light (wisdom) enter into your soul, you cannot grow as a human being. Similarly, if you have been scarred in previous relationships, you might think closing yourself off to the world is the solution. It is, temporarily. At some point, you have to let new love into your soul and mold a new you.
The third verse of the song is about Harry Styles following his heart – opening it to the possibiliy of change and love. There is a change of demeanor in the lyrics from the first and second verses to the third.
Harry Styles realizes that he is on a mission against time – we all are. There is not much time to waste on the past or not live the life that you want. He finally wants to know what ‘safe’ is in life. He wants to stop running and breathe for a minute, taking in the surrounding in.
It finally appears it’s only love
How glorious is it to find the kind of love you are looking for?!
